Photoessay #1508 - Football time again
Today I worked the second of six University of Washington football games. As an usher in 'my' tunnel (#52). Today the game was against Hawaii with a traditional 12:30 pm start. Things seemed very calm in my section. Nobody seemed to have any issues. No fighting or drunken tmbling, no complaints, no fussing about seats. None of the other games have start times because the administration holds out for tv coverage. Then the tv people determine the time. Whatever.
Huskies won 40-32, entertaining and close game. The prediction next week against their lately nemesis Nebraska, not so good. Warm day, we seem to be having summer in September but comfortable.
I maintain that I have just about the best view as I'm the last section in the south high rise with the view of the lake and the mountains. They have an area set up between the lake and the stadium where they have some restaurant service. The band plays there and forms a pathway where the coaches and players enter the stadium. You can see the special buses bringing the players. They have some kind of way where they can rock and forth which they do which seems festive somehow.
Gives me something to do anyway as I'm just standing there... I'm pretty tired as I'm outside for over six hours.
