Photoessay #1257 Exploding Volcano

The usual full day of activities here on the main day of Mom's Weekend. We've looked at a book sale, watched the Physics demonstration, did the Math Dept origami, went to the Planetarium show, watched a bit of a U Oregon/WSU women's spring soccer game. And went to the Verizon store to mess with our phone plan. Which always costs you more.

But the top (you can't beat this) had to be the Exploding Volcano demo. They always trot out the exploding stuff for Mom's and Dad's Weekend. It's done on a high patio (most of the buildings go together like jigsaw pieces. "It makes too much mess if you do it inside" explained the faculty member. Sometime to do with liquid hydrogen. And exploding with a big bang.

Now we're back at Naomi's appt. We didn't buy the big name concert ticket and the movie at the CUB kind of leaves everybody cold. So we're sort of staring at each other exhaustedly if that's a word.
