Photoessay #1152 - UMICH

I gotta say....going to the University of Michigan for the masters program at the Information School is paying huge dividends for Ilana. And she's only been there 1 semester! She's enjoyed her classes, likes her colleagues, good roommates. Her classes have already provided two direct library and archive projects in outside institutions. She had a great job in acquisitions at the Law Library. Now an even better supervisory job at the Business Library. She's planning to do an unpaid reference internship in reference at the Business Library this next semester. Now she's been selected for a paid internship in Florida in archival preservation software this summer. Whew, this internship looks pretty techy. Ten internships around the country in data preservation at prestigious organizations around the country...only open to U Mich I school students.

Great opportunities. They would not be available except at a major program at a great university.

It's almost worth the HUGE out of state tuition that she (and we) are paying.

Really impressive program
