Photoessay #1090 - Tree trauma!
I knew I wasn't going to like this, I knew it. I'm the queen of overgrown. My trees had gotten so huge, Dennis knew we had to get them trimmed. Like reshape them, reduce potential for wind damage, cut down tons of dead branches. Plus my holly by my front door. It's really a weed, doesn't fit there, drops stickery leaves, on it's way to taking out my railing, I don't use it decoratively.
So it's done, 5 guys were here for 2.5 hours. Every branch they cut down, I wanted to go out there and say 'Stop! Stop! My baby trees!" I did stop them from totally topping the cherry, I just couldn't do it. I like all that shade and privacy. But I'm getting used to it already. I know for selling the house and long term, this tree trimming was necessary. But I don't know if I'm going to get used to my holly being cut down. Really changes the entryway.
They did a good job and cleaned everything up. But my holly! I let them cut it down!
Pictures show before and after from the street. It does look better. The holly was just to the left of the front door. Last pic shows one of guys way up in my maple in my backyard.
Wah! My trees, I love my trees!
