Last night, I attended the NCAA super-regional game at top-ranked University of Washington. The Huskies have had the #1 ranking the whole year with their superstar pitcher/hitter Danielle Lawrie. Versus University of Oklahoma
The Washington Huskies lost....bad. 6-1 but it wasn't even that close. The Oklahoma hitters looked very well prepared for the normally unhittable Lawrie. Including Amber Flores who hit 3 (three) home runs. And almost a 4th.
Game's sold out. But Susanna has some tickets somehow, tells me that I should go to will call where you go to get tickets you've bought in advance or if you are on 'the list' for players or coaches. Which we have been. This works sometimes. But the people at will call can't find the tickets, nothing under my name or my daughter's. Her roommate is the assistant coach, maybe there? Anyway nothing's coming up and actually I'm an hour late.
Finally they write up a ticket. Don't know if they 'found' it or if they just decided to let me have an outfield bleacher seat so I'll shut up and go away. Either way.
I didn't have my camera...what was I thinking. I was sitting about as close to the Husky pep band as you can without playing the trombone. Actually kinda fun and I would have had a great picture if I had my camera...so here's another picture of mostly the same group.
It's a best of three series. Tonight, like real soon, Susanna and I are going to go together with some kind of ticket. It's been pouring all day but not so bad now.
UW has to win the first game to force the third game which will be played immediately. So you better hope I'm home early because if I'm home early, Oklahoma will have upset Washington.
