Who are those slim people with so much hair on their heads? Of course, it's my brother, my husband and myself 27 years ago.
What's the rehearsal for? For Victoria (Dennis's sister)'s first wedding. Of many. But this was the first and fanciest. Charl was a graduate student at UC Irvine, the local is San Diego. He was Lanaya's 'secret weapon' because he would jump in and organize whatever. He looked at the map "Where's the church, where's the reception? OK, that's the Action Corridor" There was something else on the Action Corridor, maybe the hotel where people were staying.
We stayed at the Zwisslers, Linda baby sat Danny (age 1 year?). Which I am still grateful. Just corresponded with her the other night. She said that all the Asian neighbors came out and demanded to know "Where's you get that baby????" I also remember feeding Danny in a high chair, him making the usual mess. "Don't worry", said Gayle "I'm having the carpets cleaned on Monday". I could have kissed her, I was so grateful for that! What if they had gotten them cleaned right before we came.
Anyway, back to this wedding, I was a bridesmaid, I wore this cherry red off the shoulder lace over satin getup carrying a parasol. I kid you not. Hopefully no photos survive.
The marriage didn't last, I forget the attendant drama. We joked after awhile, "brothers in law. they come they go, don't even bother learning their names" Pretty harsh to put on a public blog. I may live to regret my callous remarks.
Quite the deal, I think my brother supervised the tiki torches among other things. Since it was in the 80s, I don't remember much about it.
