Photoessay #991 - Deception Pass

We've hit the tourist trail big time this weekend with Natsuko. Today we traveled up Whidbey Island, going on the ferry, to the cute town of Langley with the good pizza, visit with Grandma Ann. Then we started up up Whidbey through Coupeville and Oak Harbor, just kept going.

To Deception Pass. It must have been a long time since I have been there and probably in a characteristic steady cold rain. But beautiful today. I have forgotten how gorgeous.

I took many decent pictures of the trip and of facets of Deception Pass. This may not be the most dramatic (ie showing the water Pass itself. But one of those pictures that just jump out of the camera fully formed. Do not need any cropping or color correction. And many have the patience to fool with the details of a particular photo a great deal. Obviously, dear readers, I do not. But I took this shot from the southern span itself on a partly cloudy early spring afternoon. Looking at the northern shore. Not sure if this is Fidalgo Island or the small island in the channel.

Too bad we didn't think to call the Lundstens, we went right near their house...we finished the day with dinner at the Noodle House with Perry and Laura. And Susanna came too.
