Today's entry is aimed at the bank people as they help figure our how to move the furniture and other items that I am taking from my mother's house. I know, I know, what you are thinking. Sandy, you already have a house full of furniture, why the heck would you want all of these items? But we definitely have room for updates. Other than our couch, none of this was purchased new for us. Much of what we have was provided by Dennis' parents as part of their antiquing odysseys. As I've mentioned, I already own three china cabinets.
And I'm not taking everything. The china cabinet, large living room cabinet, napoleon lamp, large lamp, bookcase and all of the kitchen stuff will be used by my various adult children.
Missing is the mid 60s dining room set with chairs needlepointed by my mom, a pair of end tables in the family room, some chairs, the other bed table. Plus a fair amount of fine china and crystal. Set of Limoges duck dishes, two sets of crystal for 8.
So, start with the big pile of stuff in the basement. Also pictured is the antique desk, small inlaid chest of drawers, one of the bed tables, small table, bookcase. Then a view of the large cabinet (Danny), Napoleon lamp (Ilana). NOT the clock. the last shop with my cousin and youngest daughter, shows the china cabinet (Danny) in the background) and the large 'interesting' lamp (Danny).
My mother had her living room and dining room 'done' by an interior decorator in 1964. The style was French something. I've always been liked the whole ensemble including the Napoleon and 'interesting' lamps and the marble tables. But just don't have room for it, who does?
