Working the phones and buying the tickets

My brother and sister have gone home for a short while. My sister's planning the service with the rabbi in Lafayette.

I've worked the phones. People have called. I've mobilized the girl scouts and the Temple. Working on River Bluff. Word is out. I'm sure that word spreads like wildfire.

They have a nice tradition at Wesley Willows. When a resident dies, their name and birth and death dates are displayed in an 8x10 frame on a special table on the side of the lobby for 24 hours. The table also contains a candle and a statue. I'm sure that every member glances at that table every day. I didn't know about it for my father, and I wouldn't have been there during the time. But even though it was really starting to snow, my sister and I went over to look at it.

This evening, one of my mom's neighbors kindly asked me to dinner, very sweet of them. My mom's friend and neighbor Elizanne also came.

But most of the afternoon was spent purchasing the plane tickets for Dennis and my adult children. Whew, that was NOT easy. I had to do it in 5 separate credit card buys. Hoping that it all hangs together.

I did not have ANY time to go through any of the items in the house.
