Photoessay #966 - Just plain old....

One thing I'm working on while I'm not employed. Let's get rid of some of this junk that we are carrying in this house. I'm not even considering tackling the garage and the stuff out there.

How about the sleeping bags with the ripped zippers?

How about our file box from 1985? Even before we lived in this house? Wow, we sure were paying a LOT less for doctor visits. And, check this out, the interest paid on the Washington Mutual money fund was over 9% (hoot!) When you going to see THAT again? Where IS all that money going NOW?

I had a pile ready for shredding or disposing of, in some manner, and this gem caught my eye. Wow, something we do NOT need is a IRS publication letting us know the changes for 1991. With even the Declaration of Independence featured, what's THAT supposed to mean? To be inspired to pay more taxes in 1991?

Though this year, we are taking a different tack on our taxes (wow, using taking, tack and taxes in the same sentence). Previously our tax process goes like this. We ignore it, we do nothing, maybe Dennis throws the documents into a file. Then we proceed to refuse to discuss it. Complete avoidance. Dennis would wait long enough to declare that it's 'too late' to get a tax accountant. We let it sit some more. Then the weekend before the deadline, Dennis gets the software and, somehow, he works through it all. First run, we always owe a fortune, then he fiddles with it and we get it submitted.

Many, um, sources of error in this scenario. Probably leave money on the table. But, considering those lucrative wonderful investment losses, we have, Dennis has already had an appt with a tax accountant and they THEY will do our taxes. For a price, of course.
