Photoessay #954 - The way back

My mom and sister during my Halloween trip to Rockford. My mom felt great at that time. On fairly short notice (ouch on the plane ticket) when Jeff band did not make state, I went back on a visit. My brother and sister came at the same time. My mom cooked and went on excursions, we went shopping at the Penney's outlet carting away tons of stuff for Pam, me, Teresa and Melina. We went to the Edward's Orchards somewhere in the countryside and had doughnuts and bought specialty items. We went to dinner across the street (the venue of this picture) and to the favorite swedish pancake place where I generally pick up the tab. (hmmmm, maybe not right now)

I went because I wanted to come when she was feeling good and we could all have fun. Go when things are going right.

And right after xmas, she fell so here we are. As we take turns, my sibs and I are not together but tandem.

Mom's looking a little frail in this picture but she's fine, we are over across the street, waiting to go into dinner. She's lost weight but not too bad. She's enjoying herself, being pretty active.

The trick is for her to get back to that point. That's not how she is now. But the goal is to recover enough for assisted living.

I'm taking more time right now because I have it. No job (I'm supposed to be on call next week but not really) and no kids at home. I can go so I will. Charlie is now an assistant coach for high school wrestling team so he's spent the last three weekend finishing up the season.

I expect to be there Monday thru Saturday. I always travel with a bunch of electronics. Now even more. I have a new mp3 player with some library books loaded on it. Skype is now on notebook, so is photoshop so pictures are a possibility. I think I will have two headphones, one for skype and one for the phone. No wonder I have so much stuff.

Hey, I know how to have a good time...
