Photoessay #939 - Where I'm headed

Come Monday. Rockford Memorial Hospital. I'm scheduling myself for *5* nights. That's a lot of nights. But, since Charl has got to go back for work, Pam's got to go back to work. Me? Work? Um, not sure about that question. So, since my job is the most dicey and not much to be done, and mom is really afraid of 'nobody being there', I'm going.

My main goal is to make sure we are doing EVERYTHING we can to make her comfortable. If I have to throw a major howling fit, I will do so. I do know that my siblings have done everything they can during the past week. We'll see what I say when I come back. They've been on site and I haven't.

I hope to oversee her transfer to the 'medicare unit across the street' during the time I'm there. And get an idea what's available at WW.

I will mention (as I may before) that my mother has made a major tribal shift. In Rockford, you are either a Swedish American (big downtown hospital) or you are a Rockford Memorial person. The paths never cross. My parents were dedicated committed Swedes people. But after my father passed, my mother did jump ship to Rockford Memorial. See, I know where the cafeteria is at Swedish American....

No easy answer on this one....
