My mom is so much better

Really some encouraging signs today. The physical therapy people declared (and posted a sign) that Claire would now walk to all of her meals. Which she happily did. With very few exceptions, she was clearheaded and made appropriate conversation. She chatted and joked with the doctor who came to talk with her. She ate well, not everything but some of everything (all of dessert of course). She liked sitting at a table with me but was most anxious that she would be back at the table with her pal Eleanor come Saturday.

She loved going through the mail. She opens every fund raising letter 'because there might be a stamp inside'. Um, she can buy as many stamps as she likes. She was thrilled when she found one. "See? I told you!" she admonished me.

I cannot understand why these folks think that every single piece of mail with their name and address must be shredded. Immediately! Always! We don't want that information to be stolen! That information is EVERYWHERE...why do you bother? My mother feels VERY strongly about this.....

I have a no-shred behavioral stand...
