Always wanted to get this shot, it doesn't come around very often.
Sometimes, just sometimes, when you drive on I5 southbound in Shoreline, the mountain pops out. Mt. Rainier shows right in front of you. Very dramatic, but it doesn't last very long before it disappears below the horizon.
Late this afternoon, on our way to the noodle place to meet the Garrisons, around 4:15pm, we drove down the freeway and there was the mountain. Locals say "the mountain is out". Some pinks of the sunset revealed.
We're past the solstice, yay! The days will get longer.
