Photoessay #832 - Van?

OK, we've put it off for as long as we can. We do not excel in car buying. But our 1998 Caravan with over 120K miles on it is likely on its last legs (or wheels). In a matter of days. We know, we KNOW the transmission is dying though it drives ok right now, like to the dog park. But as, the Cartalk guys say, buzzards are circling around it. An infusion of multi thousands of dollars at the local garage would fix it but....

Of course, Cash for Clunkers ended a week before the transmission started going. Of course. Unclear whether we could have taken advantage of that program. But we can grumble.

Dennis still wants a van. He insists he still wants to cart around people and stuff. He wants a Toyota. So we are looking for low mileage Toyota vans. We even went off fairly late last night to a crazy little used car place in industrial section of Ballard. The night shift.

It takes us a lot, really a LOT, as in big guns aimed at us before we will go look at used cars. But now that we have the momentum, no lot is too inconvenient or scrudgy. Must not stop until we purchase overpriced questionable van.

Off we go in rush hour to Redmond, that's smart NOT!

Picture of 2004 van, we will likely buy older.
