The Changes Parent group held their annual picnic in Lincoln Park in West Seattle this afternoon. Nice day, tons of food, pretty good turnout from the 4 groups (Seattle, Redmond, Everett, Des Moines). Lincoln Park borders Puget Sound (you can see it in the background in the picture) and is very close to the ferry to Vashon Island.
Not too hot or cold though several in the group wear sweatshirts. This picnic, for parents of acting out teenagers and young adults, specifically does not include the kids. So I could see that people who had younger kids likely could not attend. But some people I knew in the group years ago stopped by, fun to see them again. Dennis D busy at his grill on the right, cooking up everything he can. Good use of the banner, they used our sandwich board signs that we use the direct people to our meetings as directions from the parking lot.
Dennis made his usual objections about attending; he hoped to get an excursion going with his brothers to a car show. But he went and had a good time. Ilana's working all day. After discussion, we diecide to bring Teddy with us on leash. Two other dogs also attended and everybody stayed in line. Teddy even scored a few hotdogs that had gottend dropped on the ground. Teddy greeted each person he saw, he's out cold now.
I didn't eat much (yay, me). I brought the carrot salad from my mother that's always a hit. I also like to tell the people the dark secret about this tasty pretty salad. You use canned carrots!
Is it me or have I featured quite a few pictures of outdoor picnics or parties this year. Just lucky, I gess.
