Despite our warnings that care are terrible money sinks, they just take all your money, Ilana purchased this car yesterday. She looks pretty pleased.
1994 Toyota Corolla 160K miles, not exactly new. But Toyotas can run for a long time. She paid for the whole thing herself from her savings. The girl has wheels for as long as they last.
We also went for a birthday lunch at a local coffee shop. Hard to believe that the girl turns 23 in a few days! I gave her some Tayberry jam from the local jam place. That stuff's so good that you are tempted to just eat it out of the jar with a spoon. I have! Also some tickets to the Decemberists concert earlier in the summer. The one that I eagerly bought two tickets for before remembering that Teresa's Indiana bat mitzvah was that same weekend.
Same nondescript color as Susanna's Protege. It would go good in the midwest where most cars are pish colored sedans. When I drive my mom's car, I can never recognize it.
A rite of passage, I guess. Or a procession of used cars that have gone through our family.
She intends to name this car. Last night, she considered "Jessica" or "Ernest. Today the names "Zebulon" or "Mary, Queen of the Corollas" top the list.
Today's dog park news, Teddy mixed it up with Oliver (golden lab his same age), Charlie (Pomeranian/English sheep dog mix, think big pomeranian with LOTS of hair) and, a new friend Tara, a boxer with droopy ears.
