Phtoessay #782 - Bat Mitavah
What a long day! The bat mitzvah came off without a hitch. The whole darn deal including the luncheon afterwards and the barbeque in the park. My sister had it planned to the last detail. In fact, her family, who expected to help actually didn't have to do much at all. In fact, don't mess with anything, that was the best strategy.
Teresa nailed all the hebrew, chanting her torah portion and doing the haftorah in Hebrew. Her talk on her torah portion (d'vor torah?) regarding the Daughters of Zelophehad showed great insight and intelligence. One of the best I have ever heard. I was unfamiliar with the story but I could tell that she had some great contributions to the meaning of the story understanding the ambiguity and recognizing the importance of naming the Daughters.
Teresa shown in an unedit picture earlier this morning with the rabbi on the left and her teacher and cantor Karen of the right.
