Photoessay #742 - Sunset on July 4
Yesterday, we participated in two July 4th parties; our traditional one in our neighborhood with the water balloon game and later at a small party at my friend Lori and Jim's house. Friends from parent group. Party mostly held on their deck with a beautiful view of Puget Sound. We chatted as the sun went down. Soon we could see fire works from the whole region. Small flashes of color from Bremerton and Whidbey Island. The we could glimpse the Edmonds fireworks through the trees. Actually, you could see them quite well. The Edmonds folks went for the shorter more intense display. Oooooh! Aaaaaah! Some guests had some bottle rockets which they shot up into the air off the deck. Dennis couldn't resist joining in.
Then a delicious trifle filled with berries after the fireworks. People finished off most of my bowl of watermelon/raspberry/blueberry (heavy on red, that one) salad that I made for the first party. I left the rest with Lori
I met this couple about a year ago as they participate in parent group and I'm on their team. I like them a lot! Mostly the guests were friends of long standing. We're new friends but still good.
Check out that sunset! A guest enjoying the view through the trees overlooking the Sound looking towards Whidbey Island.
