For our Melina outings, we would always go to the animal farm at Farrell-McWherter park in Redmond. I may have written about it before. It was pretty, cheap, fun and close to Melina's other grandparents. The secret was we all enjoyed it a lot. Always somebody new, maybe a turkey or a new pony or members of that silly goat family. Susanna always maintained that she liked it more than Melina.
Now that Melina is 8 years old, she doesn't want to go there any more. Too bad! A few trips ago, we decided to go to the Boeing tour, really it was a trip to the beach but we stopped in at the Boeing museum to check it out. There was a rule, I still don't know how strict they are, you have to be 4 feet to go on the tour. Melina got her grandfather to measure her, 3'9". Dang. But that was 4 months ago. She now maintains that she's 4 feet tall. She wants to go on the Boeing tour. I asked Sapphoey if she had shoes with heels on them. So we are going to go with the highest heels, maybe a ponytail high on the head. Gotta get through the heigh requirement. I went on it a number of years ago, you get to go on a mezannine overlooking the floor and REALLY watch them make planes.
