Photoeessay #636 - Coaching debut

Susanna made her debut as softball coach this last week as JV coach at Shorecrest High School. The school she attended with that familiar chilly field. She's always wanted to coach high school. She has the JV team, barely enough to field a team. Some of these kids have never played before or just a bit of little league. It's a challenge!

That's high school ball, you have to make a team from what you have, You have to take your lumps. I'm guessing you learn more as a coach from a losing team of inexperienced players. You have so much father to go, more to work with. The players looked in good spirits, ready to tackle high school ball.

I was there the first hour, complete with puppy. The first inning was rocky for the scots. Combination of balls not over the plate and getting away from the catcher can run up the score pretty quick. Not in your favor.

Here Coach Suzie confers with her starting pitcher on that freezing field. We freeze out our competition, I've told parents from the opposing team. Later in the inning she changed pitchers. But I want to shout out encouragement to this pitcher. Keep working at it, you'll improve! We'll give this team some time.

Below a bonus puppy picture for my mother. My sister is in Rockfor and can show it to her.
