Photoessay #540 - Magic falls

I started to write about a picture of my brother Charlie, Uncle Alan and husband Dennis (how's that for a wad of male relatives) on a beach in Hawaii. But it reminded of the hillside pool and waterfall in the Waimea Valley. You walk up this beautiful valley overlooking the surf and the beach winding through beautiful foliage, banana trees and rhodendrons. The islanders in centuries past felt this valley was a holy place and I do acknowledge that. Up the valley, you come to this beautiful pool and waterfall. You can swim! There's a lifeguard. I did go wading though it was hard for me to get down there.
