It snows and snows. Last night, a long awaited hyped storm with heavy winds and heavy snow. Luckily, the winds didn't develop so much but we probably got another six inches of snow to go on top of what we already had. In Seattle, often we get no snow and the whole town shuts down on a few inches. No plows, people don't have snow tires. But this has been going on for forever, I guess just since Wednesday when they closed school on the forecast which did not develop. Since then, it's snowed and snowed. Even now still, though it looks a bit of that thing they call 'wintry mix'.
Ilana had her GRE test scheduled for today, not too far away. She called this morning and the test was on. Even though the authorities were warning to keep off the roads unless strictly necessary. She paid $140. So Dennis chained up the van and she got there easily. We'll see about the way home.
Here, Dennis does the important work during a break in the snow showers. A few days ago, his bird bath snapped in half from the freeze. He bought another during our panic shopping trip on Friday night as part of fetching Ilana from the U district as the buses weren't running. For right now, he's filling it with bird seed. He's had steady business.
I guess I'm glad that Shadow didn't have to contend with this extreme snow in her debilitated, weakened state.
