We celebrated Naomi's 19th birthday today. She wanted to go out and made the great choice of the Fu Man Dumpling House, a small neighborhood spot on the northern section of Greenwood. Mmmmmm, love the wonton soup, the dumplings, pan-fried potstickers, green onion pancakes and chow mein noodles. Somehow we only go there in the winter where the warm fare tastes so good. Little tiny place with the owner doing all of the waiting on the 8 or so tables. Family members busy making noodles and dumplings in the back We got the only big table, just lucked out.
I feel fortunate to have all of my adult children come and celebrate their litle sister's birthday. Jessica, Danny's girlfriend also came along.
It's supposed to snow big time tonight. I did tons of panic shopping. On the way home, we realized we didn't have a birthday cake. Naomi asked if I would make a lemon pie (my mom's receipe) so we stopped at the store and bought lemons, sweetened condensed milk and eggs. I made the pie though interrupted my two friends who wanted to chat. I am so lucky! We talked about Shadow a lot, such a gentle soul her whole dog life.
But the darn dishwasher self-destructed last night. Only three years old, sheesh.
