Here, I present the Co-Captians of the Highland Dancers, Naomi and Mariah at the parent meeting the other night. Mainly for parents of the 'new girls'. About the bonding party and ordering the special socks from Ireland. About the uniform. About the dance lessons and the performance schedule.
'New Girls' is not exactly correct as there are two male highland dancers. Who are thoroughly welcomed. Met Curtis' mom...Curtis is the one who broke the gender barrier two year ago. Also a guest at our rollicking Passover seder. Highland dancing originally included only men so...it's cool.
Ordering the socks is quite the adventure, very pricey ($130), they come from Scotland and they are made To Order.
Naomi feels very responsible as she's the senior captain. She's very fortunate to have a very able junior captain. Last year, there were 3 senior captains and they all crapped out. The bonding party (NOT hazing) is scheduled for tomorrow evening IF it doesn't snow. Weather forecast not looking too bad.
My seminar ended at noon today. Am I ever tired!
