Photoessay #463 - Trip to Pacific Science Center

On Saturday, we took our son Danny, our daughter Naomi and granddaughter Melina (age 8) to the Pacific Science Center at Seattle Center. Danny is Melina's father though he has not had much of a relationship with her. But he would like to. How do I start, he asks. You just do it, I tell him, you just be around. You just start. So that's what we did.

Susanna also came by to collect the free lunch. Naomi is the one who makes the closest contact with Melina. In fact, Melina rarely leaves Naomi's side. Naomi suggests that she acts as translator for Melina. Sometimes, you just have to get the group together and let things happen as they will. So Danny came with us and he hug out on the fringes. Hard to know what to do. You just have to be there and do what you can.

Picture taken with a flash at the Saltwater touch tank. A number of months ago, we went to the aquarium and Melina really liked that. This part really engaged her here also. Naomi's showing her and Danny's working on being involved.
