My friend and co-worker Emily sent me these wonderful hand-made socks today. A surprise! Along with a nice note. They fit my feet perfectly. Not only that, you can put them in the washer. Perfect small knitting stitches, they are a work of art. We don't always pay attention to socks.
Pretty colors too, variegated soft shades of violet, blue, green and gold.
Second nice surprise present this week, the first being the stained glass piece from my brother. Both hand made and reflecting substantial talent. In one week.
I am looking forward to wearing the socks tomorrow, maybe I can show them off at Parent Group. And I hope that Dennis will install the stained glass over the front door by Thanksgiving.
My cousin Mary Ann (the brains of the operation) is now visiting my mom. Sounds like they are having a good time, they've picked out the new recliner chair, messing around with my family history that I wrote in 1974 and cleaned out some pantry shelves. Tomorrow they will also go to the new restaurant at the Anderson Garden.
