Photoessay #447 - Susanna and Amy

Here, the bride Amy introduces her main of honor, Susanna during the reception. The two have been buddies since they both joined LadyHawks 16U before their sophomore year in high school. Amy characterized them as the two 'poor kids'. They played together on their travel team and then, in high school ball, met in the State Championship. Shorecrest (Susanna's team) won that game in extra innings, Amy took it hard. Shorecrest appeared in the championship game in the next two years, losing both times. Susanna was the shortstop, I believe Amy played in the outfield, though her primary position was catcher.

They've remained friends ever since. When Susanna would come home from Oregon, I knew that within 24 hours, we would be seeing Amy who would stay for a few days. She rather looked at Ilana and Naomi as her younger sisters.

If you look closely, you might notice that both young women have participated in Pac 10 and ACC directed weight training programs. They both have that characterstic upper body strength that comes from long hours in the weight room. Susanna also experienced a 'wardrobe malfunction'. One of the dress straps broke when she was arranging Amy's train during the ceremony. Luckily, there are two straps on each side.

You also might notice that they have a long history and lot of stories to tell on each other....
