Photoessay #253 - Family resemblance

I found this picture of my mother and my late aunt in my parent's basement a few trips ago. Even though they just moved to that place at Wesley Willows 4 years ago, they have plenty of stuff in that basement. My mom (on the left) is about 10 years old. My brother was cruising by as I held up the picture and he declared as he brushed past "Oh that's Sandy". No, it's not me, it's Claire, my mother. At the same time, I found the snapshot of myself at about the same age that I stuck in the corner. Uncanny family resemblance between my mother and myself!

People have always told me "You look just like your mother" and, usually, I can't see it. Sometimes when I've been in the main facility at Wesley Willows, peole will stop me in the hall "You don't even have to tell me who you are, I can tell, you are Claire's daughter!"

The lower snapshot was taken in living room of the Arden Park home probably around 1962. Only picture I know that shows the rarely used double doors with decorative pressed butterfly screens.

i think that you should put that picture of Naomi at that age, too. You can really see grandma in her.
