Today, Ilana decided to make challah. I had a recipe from a long time ago. From experience, I know NOT to use the yeast packet which has been sitting in the cupboard for HOW LONG? Who knows? The last century? Get new from the store. She wants the challah for a holiday party tomorrow evening. What? We wanted some for tonight. So we decide to make two. But when the first one is done, of course, we must have some because so yummy right out of the oven. Just as good as it looks.
When it comes time for the kneading and the braiding, Susanna bellows "I'M KNEADING!!!! MOVE OVER, I'M DOING THAT!" When you need the physical large or small motor tasks done, she's the one.
The windstorm predicted for today did not materialize. At least, not yet. For that, I am very grateful.
