Photoessay #135 - Kitties in black and white

I'm always thinking that this picture has some artistic merit. Duality, juxtaposition, etc. Then again, it's really a kittie picture.

Our two cats, George (large white cat) and Starbaby (small tabby) during a winter storm going in and out of the garage. George (cognitively challenged, he want's to be nice, he just forgets) always stands out. Thus Dennis' nicknname for him "Beacon Boy". When it snows, we said "George, here's your big chance....you can blend in!" But he was not amused, didn't like the snow.

He wants to go in, Starbaby wants to go out. George may be 3 times Starbaby's size but no question who's the boss, who goes first. Starbaby, (her fuzziness, as Dennis calls her) feels she's empress of all she surveys. She fiercely defends the yard and the garage against all comers while George is off hiding under a bush somewhere. "You could help" I tell him, "You could help Starbaby" He isn't interested. Her ears are notched and bent from her various fracas. "Character", the vet assures us. "Oh no" sighs Naomi, "she was going to be my show cat"

But light into darkness, darkness into the light, all that.
