Photoessay #128 - Spy in the northwest

My husband and I are still involved with travel softball in the Northwest, specifically offering recruiting, website and email help to the Washington LadyHawks. A few weeks ago, we attended a local tournament featuring the LadyHawks Gold team. Here, the head coach Wayne M chatting with Rayburn Hesse, writer of Spy Softball.

Wayne had a great season with his team, winning the Gold Qualifier in dramatic come from behind fashion in that crazy Seattle/Yakima tournament. They then won 3 games in a row at Gold Nationals placing 9th in the nation. We have enjoyed working with Wayne, these last 4 years.

Check out Spy Softball http://www.spysoftball.com written by Mr. Hesse. An excellent writer and well-traveled individual, his writing transcends your usual writing about fastpitch softball. Involved in international issues on the world stage, Rayburn shares his insights and experiences. I believe that most of his stories are true! :) He also knows more about collegiate and travel softball than most anybody else. His website is considered publication of record for many fastpitch topics within the community. He also has positive observations about many aspiring college recruits and players and appreciates good play all around.

Rumor has it that he's moving to the northwest so we will be able to see him more often. Great new for our area. His review of my daughter's on and off field performances helped her land a spot on a Pac 10 team. He once approached her at a national tournament and said "Suzie, you have the highest vertical leap of anybody I have ever seen and you also make the most noise in the dugout!"

She's helping the new UO second baseman this year in the fall practices
