Photoessay #125 - Arden Park homeowner

Many thanks to D.W., homeowner of the Arden Park house where my family lived from 1955-64. He generously opened up his home to us and allowed us to take pictures. Many of the pictures are featured on my companion blog http://www.ginsburgh-pixs.blogspot.com We compared notes about what I remembered and the improvements that they had made since they bought the home in 1994. And we speculated what had happened in the 30 years in between. This house has been extensively remodeled though the only actual addition was a master bath. He graciously showed us all around though, for some reason, I never went into the kitchen. We poked around everywhere else. Looking at the pictures, I marveled how attractive and well-appointed this home is. The neighborhood and this home radiated good care. In 1955, this house was easily affordable for a young Aerojet engineer with a stay at home wife and 3 kids. We could never afford this home now. He figures it would sell for 1.2 million now.

Picture in the front yard with Dennis, a nice time! A line I used a lot during this trip for reluctant photo subjects "Oh, this is for documentation purposes".
