Here I am at July 4 at the family cabin at Harstine Island. I'm chatting in the shade with Dennis' cousin Cheryl. It's her dad that we were honoring. My first knee replacement is not until late January. Though I'm dreading the major surgery, I am NOT looking forward to spending the next six months gimping around. The cabin was hard for me because all the ground is uneven. People were very helpful
Dennis and I are both fond of Dennis' cousins Cheryl and Lawrence. Lawrence was here with his family. I know they came for Allen's memorial. I wonder when we will see them again. Cheryl and her husband JC have bought a house in Spain. She and Lawrence live in southern California. We have been going to this cabin for over 30 years. It's interesting the changes, who can come, who has ownership, who has say. Eliza, the youngest of Dennis' birth mother's 7 siblings was the only one of that group there. Three of them have passed. The 'young people' are now mature, not young adults.
That's Bowen laying at Dennis' feet. We kept him on leash but he had a gay old time. He LOVES to be included.
