Godspeed Teddy

It is with heavy heart that I announce the death of my dog Teddy, age 13.  My babypie and loveykins.  He was the sweetest dog ever.  He ran his life with the idea that he loved everybody and everybody loved him.  And they did.

As a puppy, he loved to wrestle.  He could pin dogs much bigger than himself.  And as a young and middle-aged dog, he was a dedicated fetcher.  When he was a year old, the fetch elements of his brain aligned and he just knew "I must retrieve!"  He would run and jump and get that ball, bring it back and drop it at my feet.  Maybe give it a little nudge.  He loved to have a job and could bring groceries in from the car.

He loved company and made friends wherever he went.  Nobody was ever mean to him.  He was my dog, a pleaser and he followed me every everywhere.

He was the puppy of a rescue dog in rural Roy.  The mama dog was part whippet and shepherd maybe.  I heard that a brindle boxer may be in the mix.  At first I thought and many people thought he might be part pit.   He had a large head and big jaws.  But I don't think so.  He had his lovely brindle coat his whole life.

But yesterday he was so very sick.  They saw cancer growing on his liver and bladder.  He had stopped eating, he was not able to maintain his blood pressure or blood counts.  There really was no choice.  Dennis, Naomi and Susanna were with me.

 So sad.

So sorry to hear about Teddy. He seemed an integral part of your life for so long.
