La Conner

Today, we took our half-day trip during housecleaning to La Conner an arty town on the Swinomish Channel.  Lots of fishing happens there also. The town attracts a lot of tourists on the attractive main street.  We hit there about 10:30 AM on a brilliant Monday morning after a rainy weekend.  Usually it's packed with people.  But with these Covid times, it was empty.  Quite a few places were closed, some were doing renovations.  Yes, it was Monday but it was sunny and June.  We couldn't hardly find a place for an early lunch.  We had to buy a packaged sandwich in the grocery store at noon.  Still in phase 1 here.  But they had a lovely promenade along the water.  And we took Teddy who was good except the whimpering and the shrieking when the car stops.  The Skagit Valley is always pretty but a clear sunny day, just gorgeous.
