Sandy's hair in 1967
This picture will be featured in a complete different context tomorrow.
But this was in my parent's slides. Me in 1967, I'm 15. This is the one and only time I ever got my hair to look like this. Some kind of combination of curlers and hair spray. Never to happen again. But I'm sure my mother was so pleased and proud of me. She always wanted to look 'sharp' and 'well put-together;' generally well groomed. She wanted that very badly for me and I was never much interested. Maybe as a young teenager, I might have been interested but I could never make it happen. My mother felt strongly that it reflected on her.
Maybe I was giving my mother some false hope here. Maybe she thought there might be a chance after all.
But there wasn't.
