More Priscilla - what about a 50 year memorial?

As the result of my blog post last week about the tragic death of Priscilla Parkin, a high school classmate wrote about his own grief over her untimely death.  He had a few stories to tell.

I offer this picture taken (probably by Jean J) at the Christmas break 1970.  My point is, look how much better she looks already!  She seems more relaxed in her own skin.  That fall quarter at Crown College has done her a lot of good.  She fits in, has friends.  She's not the out of control, outrageous for outrageous sake freak any more.  She's moving forward.  Yay Priscilla!  Of course I knew as I had been at Crown College with her that quarter.

Can we freeze time at this moment?  Do we have to advance into the tragic future?  Can we celebrate her high spirit right now  RIGHT NOW?  Can we pray for her soul at this moment, in this state?

I want to, I really want to.  Capture this moment!

For people who may remember or experience, what do you think of the idea of a Priscilla celebration on the 50th anniversary of her death.  A yarzeit, kind of.  That would be Jan 18 2021.  Frightening that she could have been gone for that long.  Or that we are still here remembering all these years.
