"All About Me"

It's SIFF time again (Seattle International Film Festival) and though it's hard to make it out and make those plans, we try to go see our six movies. Including staying at the Shoreline Community College venue rather than going downtown or to Kirkland and hassling parking.  Often I select the movies just from the description, no brutal or devastating or dark.  Nope nope.

We went tonight and were pleased that the Shoreline theater was quite full.  A German movie, who picked out a German movie?  I don't like anything German especially movies.  But this one was delightful and warm.  I would highly recommend it.  A memoir about the childhood of a well known German TV star (who I never heard of.)  Certainly some sad parts but so much warm-hearted family love in this movie.  With strong women characters.  The child actor with the lead was so convincing talented and moving in his performance.  Tremendous in his tight interpretation of the often gentle screenplay.

Go see it if you see it around.

UPDATE:  This young man won Best Actor at SIFF
