George, we'll miss you...
Our big white cat George died yesterday. I don't know how old he was. We had him for 14 years, Dennis' parents had him for several years and he was a grown cat when they got him. Over 20 years, for sure.
He was a big lug in his prime, a 'thug' Dennis called him. He might bite you or take a swipe at you when you walked past. But, in his own way, he was very sweet; definitely Dennis' cat. There were several years that he spent in our garage because he was afraid of the dog. We tried to convince him, one swipe from you and you are the boss. He eventually came in but it took him a long time.
In recent years, he would like to sit on the bill box by Dennis when he used the computer. He would make comments. And climb onto his chest when he was in bed listening to old radio programs. Always with the thick white fur.
As Dennis said, he was not a 'beginner cat,' but he was a sweet boy. Sort of. We'll miss him. I keep looking around for him today.
