In my housing class this summer, I learned that we are 'over-housed,' that is, we live in a house too big for our family size (currently 2). Plus I know those stairs are just a big problem waiting to happen. Nothing extraordinary about our house, a seventies split entry. There's a zillion of them. A split entry was always been considered not as desirable, that's why we could buy it in 1987. We've lived in our house for 31 years. So I want to start thinking about it. Though, we are happy right where we are.
The picture above is for sale, it's from a realtor's website. We drove by it and looked around yesterday. I would like a place closer to the University a block or so from a direct bus route. One level but with some privacy. This place was intriguing because it's on the edge of a very desirable area (Laurelhurst) and right on a short bus ride to the university. Costs about 250K above what our house would fetch. But, obviously, this house is two story with the laundry downstairs.
Still a nice place. Of course, when you actually go, you see other things not featured. The backyard backs up to a very busy street with lots of traffic noise. Plus the lot was quite uneven.
Nice place though. We didn't see the inside. For right now, we will stay here.
