Rep Meeting

I hosted a meeting of the reps for Parent Group this morning.  First time at  10 am and I think it was a hit.  The most exciting part was the camaraderie and the satisfaction by all of everybody being there.  All of the reps from all of the groups came,  Plus our ED and two additional board members.  17 in all.  Pretty good for an all volunteer parenting group.  There's a strength in looking around the table and seeing the people from the other groups, getting to know them.  I serve as 'rep liaison' a job I made up which mostly means that I host these rep meetings.  We are fortunate to have an Executive Director who serves at reduced compensation subsidized by a local non-profit who provides leadership to non-profits who would not be able to afford one.

I run the meeting and I really encourage a bottom up approach.  I'm not so interested in telling these leaders what to do.  I want to give an opportunity and an environment for discussion and reports what's really going on in the various chapters.  I have an agenda; I stick to it and I end the meeting precisely at end scheduled end.

But I'm always so wiped out at the end.  Even though I've got a friendly crowd and a lot to talk about.  We put three tables together and used the main hall of the church; lucky for us that nobody else was there.  I brought food, so did others.  It worked out great.  Some good ideas.  Glad I did it.  Thanks to everybody for coming.

A shot that I took right before.
