On my recent trip to UCSC, I attended a session on documenting a university's history. Though entertaining, the session didn't tell me what I wanted to know. I wanted to hear about what they had, their philosophy in collecting it, the nature of individuals in building institutional memory, etc. JJ went with me, you can see her facing away from the camera on the far left, she didn't like it either.
But, who cares, check out the outside view. Yup, that's all windows and there are the redwoods. Ya gotta love the place with those trees. Actually I had a job my senior year, taking reservations for the jitney to Berkeley. I had a view like that. Mostly I convinced UCSC students that I was keeping a shitlist for those that didn't show up and didn't come back after their day in Berkeley. Many used it as free transportation. We had no list but I convinced a lot of people that we did. I believe it was a box of cards that I used as my database.
Back to the redwood trees, so extraordinary.
