My family took quite a few weeklong vacations at this beach. It remained my mother's favorite place. She did want to visit again as an elderly person in the midwest. My parents even had a plan at one point. The idea of my elderly father driving over Hwy 17 terrified me. He shouldn't be driving at that point any way and certainly not over Hwy 17, the scariest road ever.
But the beach itself and the surrounding small community are surprisingly unchanged.
We would beat the valley heat for the cool marine weather. My mother loved to walk the beach in the evening and morning.
