Photoessay #2936 - Chihuly Garden and Glass

My cousin suggested that we see this new place when they come next week.  I had only vaguely heard about it but now I'm looking forward to seeing it.  I remember when it was first announced, thought it seemed like an old timer inside deal if I had ever heard of one.  Why should a commercial artist like Chihuly get a big chunk of Seattle Center?  Even though he's famous and everything.

We have seen a lot of his work along with the Pilchuck School at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma.  I thought I saw the new place over by where the gallery used to be by the Northwest rooms.  (Wasn't it my cousin Flash who drew a cartoon saying "Don't say turn where the Dairy Queen used to be?")  But the recording says it's at the base of the Space Needle, does that make any sense?  Oh, right, they tore out the Fun Forest and replaced it with this Chihuly thing.  Not that I mourn the end of the Fun Forest; I thought it was pretty sleazy.

So having the rellies come to down is an excellent excuse to go see this new place.

Melina would really enjoy it; she really liked the Museum of Glass when we went.

So I guess I'll get with the program and check it out.
