Photoessay #2843 - Wedding ceremony
The wedding is over, long live the wedding!
It all went just fine. Every wedding has its near catastrophe. For this one, most of the flowers didn't arrive until 45 minutes after the wedding was to start. So everybody was seated. But the show was not going to go on without the flowers. So I was standing there at the door. Waiting. The bride and the bridesmaids were not going to come down until the flowers arrived. So there I was and ... no bridal procession!
But the flowers eventually did arrive and after that, everything went smoothly. Everybody had a great time! The food was great, lots of enthusiasm. We all danced. I danced with the Filipino grandmas. Whoopee! Melina had a wonderful time running around and dancing with the other junior bridesmaids. The event was scheduled to end around midnight; we finally peeled her off the dance floor at 11:30 pm.
Other people had my camera. As mother of the groom, I really couldn't take pictures. But here's one taken by Megan during the ceremony. Very short and sweet, that ceremony. Once it got going!
The bridesmaid's dresses were all the same color....
