A beautiful early spring day here in the Northwest; we don't get many of those. Spring here is so elongated, it goes on and often through June. In California, camellias and daffodils bloomed the grass in the landscape (cultivated and otherwise) shot up, strong and green. Then un-wantered grasses died, the hills turned brown and, bam, summer (unending bright sunny days) was upon you!.
I took a few pictures of some blooming going on around here, daffodils and crocuses around my neighbrhood.
Across the strreet from our culdesac is a larger attractive home with a larger piece of land. A retired couple lived there for not too long. I could tell they loved stuff or she did. The yard was full of things and decorations. Several storage sheds. I'm sure that she had the house full. I think once she mentioned having other houses. They even bought $46 worth of items from Susanna's sale last summer.
A few weeks ago, when I was walking Teddy (they also had a dog named Teddy), I saw an ambulance and police cars and then lots of people coming. And lots of sobbing and hugging. Something bad had happened there but I couldn't bring myself to ask them..."Hi guys, I notice everybody looks miserable and crying, what gives?"
But now with an obituary I see that the husband died in December (just 70!) and the wife was the one died that February day (not even 70!).
So now the family has to deal with all of the stuff. I'm sure there's a ton of it. What a job.
Anybody see the comic strip Arlo and Janis the other day? Janis is drying a plate and drops it. It breaks. She and Arlo high five it "One less thing!" they cheer.
