Photoessay #2903 - Location location location

I see how it is.

My goal next quarter is to take a Holocaust class from a young factuly member at UW.  And to get myself into a section.  When I talked to him in the fall, he said he really liked having Access Students.  He hasn't answered my post yet  about specifically taking this class.

But I'm watching the six sections fill up online.  As an Access Student, you sign up after the quarter starts.

The sections are all midday on Friday.

It's pretty easy to see that the pattern is driven by location.  I've been hanging around the Seattle campus for three years so I'm getting  to know my way around.  The section in Paccar Hall is full.  Duh, my geneaalogy class was in  Paccar for 1.5 quarters and we LOVED it.  The new business school.  The rest of the time we were in an older building Thompson which, all agree, should be bulldozed.  The one in the Mechanicall Engineering building is also full, that's not quite as obvious but it's a real convenient location right on the bus line.

The two with the most spaces are in the Fisheries building and Condon Hall.  Condon is kinda ugly and inconvenient but I know I could do it.  Fisheries?  Wow, it's way down near the ship canal, way way far away from the bus.  I don't even know if I could manage it with my old lady roller bag.

I look forward to the class though hearing about the Jews being murdered for a whole quarter may not be fun.

Nice picture of the new at the time from the 1999 alumni magazine.  Used without permission
