Photoessay #2893 - Bridal Shower
Today Dennis and I took care of business extreme linear south (as he used to put it). We even arranged for dog babysitting (though there was a not quite identified indiscretion in the den).
First we left early in the morning and went all the way to Puyallup and participated in the LadyHawks recruiting meeting. I hadn't written myself into the agenda but we ended up being part of the talk just by showing up. Then a lunch at a Chinese buffet place.
Then on to my brother and sister in law's house in Des Moines. I knew my sister in law Loreen was discouraged with her search for her stepmother of the bride dress. I brought my dress that I bought through the Nordstrom wedding stylist. She tried it on, it wasn't quite right but it was the right idea. Another similar dress might be just the ticket.
Our common mother in law arrived and we went to attend a bridal shower for the stepdaughter/niece mentioned previously. Pretty good sized group over 25 women in one living room. Mostly all extended family. Grandma Anne, Grandma Suzanne, and I had all given her soup pots. Having several soup pots is ok. I took a lot of out of focus pictures.
But here's a few shots. Crystal in the orange gracefully talking to her guests. Always articulate and gracious. And Grandma Anne sitting with Loreen's mom admiring pictures of a new great grandchild.
Krystal teared up when Suzanne gave her some embroidered pillowcases that Suznne's late mother, Grandma Gigi had asked to be given to Krystal when she married.
So some of these items that we have, maybe we have lots of items from times gone by. Sometimes we just have get rid of them. But they might be very meaningful for the next generation.
