Photoessay #1462 - Kamola Hall

The first shot is a very tired Naomi after class registration. Notice the smoothies I got to try to smooth the situation. She's sitting in front of Kamola Hall, the residence hall where she's going to live. She does have a single room but the housing lady warned her that it was a very small room. It's in the learning community area for education students. She was hoping for an upper classroom dorm but apparently freshman will be around too.

"Freshman boys?" says Naomi, "Enough said".

However I've done a bit of research here and turns out that Kamola is a darn interesting place.

First of all, it's haunted, how cool is that?

Kamola Hall is the second oldest building on campus, started in 1910. Originally it housed the College of Education. It's also housed soldiers during all the wars since that time (maybe Vietnam was the last one). They totally refurbished the place in 2003.

So it might be a mighty weird room, she's got in there.

The haunting story:

Kamola Hall is haunted by the ghost of a former student that committed suicide there when she found out that her fiancé had been killed during the war. She hung herself from the rafters of the top floor where her room was located. People have reported unusual noises and sightings over the years. Even today, some of the students residing in the building have reported strange occurrences such as doors opening and closing by themselves and doors being knocked on but nobody there.

Don't know the date of the second picture.....
